Luang Prabang in the north of Laos - one of our favourite places we have visited this trip.
You want to know why? Well here's a few reasons:
The food (always most important):
Yummy baguettes every morning for 10,000kip (80p!) = delish! |
Fill your plate for 10,000kip dinner = also delish! |
The blend of French colonial with traditional Laos architecture:
Too cool! |
Not quite templed out yet |
The peace and tranquility you can find everywhere:
Buddha without his make up on |
Hanging out on Phusi hill |
This lizard was chilling too |
The chance to see traditional Lao craftsmanship in action:
I am a silk worm I am never glum How can you not be happy When silk comes out your bum - Anon |
Silk worm cocoons ready for spinning into silk |
And here's the colourful result! |
And of course the chance to explore the great outdoors is never far away!
One day on Mama Chari style bikes got us in the mood for a longer ride... |
60km return trip on mountain bikes got us to this beauty |
Oh boy were we ready for a swim! |
BEAUTIFUL! |
